Three steps of palm oil fractionation process
Heating section:
In advance, the refined oil needs to be heated to about 60°C to turn the oil into a pure liquid state (crystallization). After heating, the oil is pumped into the crystallization tank. A cooling coil is installed in the crystallization tank. The cooling medium is chilled water and cooling water.
Cooling (crystallization and crystal growth section):
Crystal growth is an important step in the palm oil fractionation process, and it is also an important operation that affects the filtration effect. There is a refrigeration coil in the crystal growth tank. By adding cooling water, the palm oil is lowered to the specified temperature, so that the solid oil is precipitated as crystals.
Filtration section:
The crystallized RBD palm oil is delivered to the membrane filter through a filtration pump. Membrane filters consist of filter plates, filter membranes and gap plates. The oil slurry gradually enters the space piece by piece through the filter plate. The liquid fat flows out from the corrugated channel of the rubber membrane through the filter cloth, and then enters the soft fat tank through the closed pipe outside the filter frame, leaving the solid fat. Finally remove the palm stearin from the plate.
The fractionated palm oil can be used in cooking oil, frying oil, etc., and the stearin can be used in chemicals such as butter and soap.
