The industrial use of palm oil is approximately 35%, as edible oil 24%, instant noodles 27%, cakes 10%, and other uses approximately 4%.
Palm oil fractionation refers to dividing palm oil into products with different melting points by controlling the cooling and crystallization process of palm oil and performing separation:
The melting point of palm stearin is higher than 40℃, the melting point of palm soft ester is about 30℃, and the melting point of liquid palm oil is below 24℃. The yields of these three products are roughly 20%, 30% and 50% respectively.
Liquid palm oil contains monounsaturated fatty acids and vitamin E, and is often added to various blended oils.
High melting point solid palm oil is the base oil for products such as shortening and pastry margarine.
33/24/44°C, etc. These numbers refer to the melting point of palm oil, that is, the temperature at which the solid state turns into a liquid state, such as "24°C" or "24 degrees". Palm oil is liquid when the temperature is greater than or equal to 24°C. It is solid below 24 degrees Celsius.
In the domestic market, a series of palm oil products with melting points from 5°C to 58°C are available.
Palm oil with 8-12 degrees Celsius can be used directly and has a low proportion;
24 degrees to 33 degrees are mainly used in the food processing industry, accounting for the largest proportion;
33 degrees to 52 degrees are mainly used for industrial purposes.
The most imported palm oil in my country is 24°C palm oil, which is fractionated as raw material oil.
The 10°C and 12°C liquid oil extracted from 24°C palm oil is about 50%. These low-melting palm oils are sold directly, or made into blending oil, or further processed.
Another product oil proposed separately is 28°C palm oil (solid fat) as a special oil for food. After a slight refining process, it is directly filled into blended oil.
It is also possible to separate 38°C oil and 24°C oil again, with the 24°C oil being returned to raw oil, and the 38°C oil being used as instant noodle oil, or blending 28°C oil with imported 44°C oil into 38°C oil.
The main palm oil varieties currently fractionated are 10°C, 12°C, 14°C, 16°C, 18°C, 24°C, 28°C, 30°C, 33°C, and 44°C.
